I still have yet to resolve this issue, and I do not want to use the web version. It happens so often that I've become pretty paranoid about it. Your place to talk. I've posted on this issue a while back, and I've contacted customer services multiple times. It started after the Win 10 creator's update rolled out for me. I have an external soundcard (Audient id14) and had no big issues before the last few days. On another front, if I have anything but "default" set for my discord app's audio, it will frequently be completely silent for everything but voice chat. I have a netgear R6220. It happens so often that I've become pretty paranoid about it. If I haven't heard someone say anything after 5-10 minutes I'm asking "Is my discord messed up again". New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. Enabled QoS and gave my PC's MAC Address highest priority and that fixed it (for me). Edit: Win 7 user here. For me though, I'm able to disconnect, then reconnect and I can hear them. My issue may not be the exact problem you're having but maybe this will help. I enabled QoS and it still happens. Any suggestions would greatly be appreciated. I also added discord to the priority list with the settings set to UDP 45000-6000. I was leaning towards a networking issue when going through the info in this new thread as well. If all else fails - it us up via email@example.com - thanks! My theory has been that it really doesn't like your computer using two different audio channels at the same time, but I could be wrong. Something else on my PC must not be playing well with discord, but I cannot figure out what that would be or where to look. That for sure caused the problem! Your place to talk. Maybe post about it here so that maybe it will get looked at: https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/66p5im/a_year_and_a_half_later_discord_is_still_broken/. I have to unpower my mixamp and replug it back in for the audio to come back. I have to unpower my mixamp and replug it back in for the audio to come back. I have to close discord and open it up again. It seems to happen after I leave a channel and then the next time I load it up or join voice it is silent. Many people started reporting discord voice chat cutting out during usage randomly. Then when a moderator enters the chat, they stop because they hear the sound of someone joining and sees the tag. Discord is a voice, video and text communication service to talk and hang out with your friends and communities. (I am saying that prematurely, I'm testing the fix right now.). Difference is, I can't use the chat channel anymore. First time was late Xmas, I had problems with my ISP so I dropped and was using my phone data plan to connect the PC. The only way I can hear people again is to closeout and restart discord. Thank you for supplying some extra information. I do, I can talk on teamspeak perfectly fine, and by the looks of it, everything is normal, I'm really stumped, I guess I'll just have to stick with the web version I guess. Save, then manually turn off streaming mode again. Thanks everyone! Is anyone else experiencing this? When I set discord to use my Astro USB channel, sometimes it will make discord & my astro mixamp stop communicating with one another. The only way I can hear people again is to closeout and restart discord. Here's the directions I used: https://kb.netgear.com/24266/How-to-enable-Quality-of-Service-QoS-on-routers-with-NETGEAR-genie. Anyone know if … I finally got it working, I uninstalled and reinstalled Synapse, it seems that it was the cause, thank you very much! Could my router be potentially causing issues? A silent/invisible join/presence in a channel would … Then all of a sudden I cannot hear anyone talking, but they can still hear me. Edit/update: I followed the numerous suggestions of enabling QoS in my router settings. It just uses default output (instead of default comm) no matter what I do. It was embarrassing and annoying, contacted support about it but since I knew it had something to do with my connection didn't bother too much. I use Astro A40's for my pc audio. Randomly discord will go silent. On another front, if I have anything but "default" set for my discord app's audio, it will frequently be completely silent for everything but voice chat. On my phone connected to the same router, there are no dropouts. Workaround that I know of: Manually enable streaming mode in the settings. You still hear operating system noises or other sounds through the headset? Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts, https://www.reddit.com/r/discordapp/comments/66p5im/a_year_and_a_half_later_discord_is_still_broken/. If this doesn't work, do the same but disable auto-enable stream mode first. Hoping it's fixed. I thought I was the only one, but for me it's been occurring for about a year, maybe a little less. When this happened to me it was related to QoS on my router. Seriously, lets get the ball rolling on this. I also have a netgear. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. I'm using the Discord Desktop app, and for a little while, I've had no sound when using my headphones (Razer Kraken USB), I can see green circles as people chat, and my circle will light up too, but I dont hear any sounds at all, not deafening or muting, notifications, nothing at all, but when I use my speakers, it works perfectly fine, I assume it's the headset but I've updated the drivers and synapse and I have no idea where to head next about fixing this issue, I've done that, and still nothing, even if I click on the blue speaker that acts as the "play x noise" I get nothing. No message alerts, no mention alerts, just silence. Will continue to monitor it. In the discord servers I'm in, often someone swears, harasses, or threatens another in a voice channel. It happened to me too!! Astro support was clueless. Ohh would you look at that, I just made a thread about this exact same thing and how it goes ignored nearly every time its brought up. Could a Windows 10 setting be causing issues? Its working perfectly fine. I was searching through the threads to see if anyone had tried this. edit: I think i have different firmware, because Setup QoS rule > Add Priority Rule.
